Gender identity is only one aspect of identity, however it is the most easily stereotyped, put in the box, overlooked and very often the cause of severe violence, discrimination and jeopardisation of Human Rights on a daily basis. In many societies around the world gender equality, especially the role of women and violence against women is an issue, which calls for urgent action. As the 16th of June is getting closer, EYCE wants to urge you to get involved by doing an activity within your congregation, your youth group or just together with your friends. Participation in the Green Hand Day is a call to politicians to show that European youth watches what they decide for our common future.

EYCE Press Release: EYCE ExCo meets in Svätý Jur, Slovakia
The Executive Committee (ExCo) of the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe (EYCE) met for their scheduled meeting from 31st of May to 4th of June 2012 in Svätý Jur, Slovakia. The ExCo also took the opportunity to travel to Vienna in order to meet with the representatives of EYCE’s Austrian Member Organisation Ökumenischer Jugendrat in Österreich and the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE). In addition, the ExCo met the former EYCE ExCo member Dr. Július Filo. Of great interest was also a meeting with Marek Hrivňàk, who represents youth ministries in Bratislava, which encompass a vast network of young people.
