The ExCo reviewed and evaluated the work that has been done since their last meeting in October 2009 in Sarajevo, as well as further developed action plans for carrying out the mandates given by the General Meeting, and defining the priorities of each working area of the Council.
The agenda of the meeting included the planning of the Council's work for 2010, as well as developing the outline for themes and events in 2011. Large part of the work has been dedicated to outlining the new EYCE campaign, which will focus on ecology and justice. It is planned to launch the "Campaign to Promote Ecological Justice" in January 2011.
The foreseen events for the year 2010 are:
- 18th - 25th of April: "Democracy for all! A training course for youth leaders fostering inter-generational dialogue", Tallinn, Estonia.
- 12th - 16th of May: "Overcome Fundamentalism!" Workshops during the Second Ecumenical Kirchentag, Munich, Germany.
- 1st - 8th of August: "Facing the Economic Crisis - role and possibilities of youth organisations. a training for ecumenical trainers in field of economic justice", Klaipeda, Lithuania.
- 12th - 18th of September: "Climate Justice now!" A double study session in cooperation with WSCF-E, Strasbourg, France.
- 28th November - 5th December: "Fundamentalist or Responsible Citizen? Contribution of religious communities to formation of European citizens", Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Alongside other activities in 2010, the meeting of EYCE National Correspondents will take place from 8th-12th October. It will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The ExCo reviewed the involvement and cooperation with other ecumenical bodies in Europe, such as WSCF-E and CEC, including the common engagement into the WCC "Poverty, Wealth and Ecology" programme in 2010, and discussed the cooperation with the inter-religious partner Forum of European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO).
Before the ExCo meeting a letter of resignation from ExCo member Erla Björk Jonsdottir has been received, which added another agenda item on the ExCo agenda. After lengthy discussions the ExCo decided to send out a call for co-option in order to find a person to take over Erla's responsibilities.
The ExCo meeting in Stockholm also provided time for meeting with representatives of local ecumenical youth organisations. Both, meeting with the chairperson of Equmenia, a network of Baptist, Methodist and Mission Covenant Church youth of Sweden, Johan Nilsson and the meeting with the chairperson of Church of Sweden Youth Johan Berkman were very interesting and fruitful, and will bring a closer cooperation between EYCE and the Swedish young people in the future. |
