EYCE General Secretary: KristÄne Jansone Warm greetings from Brussels! My name is Kristine Jansone, and I am 30 year old Lutheran from Latvia. I have studied Theology and Pedagogy in University of Latvia. My involvement with ecumenical organisations has started with EYCE and its events. However, I have been doing my international youth work mainly with my national youth organisation KRISTA, which is also a member of EYCE.
I think that two main features, which help me in everything I do is openness and optimism. The openness is important, to my mind, because in the contemporary life and society there are constant changes, to which we need to adjust, new situations and new people to discover. Especially in international setting and in youth work it is always important to be open-minded and flexible. I think forme the openness is not as much as necessity, but a natural state of being as I find it extremely interesting to discover new cultures, places, people, situations and challenges. Also optimism and looking at things from a positive perspective is a crucial element in this work.
The faith and my Christian belief play central role for me, because it lies under the philosophy of life I have â‵ being kind, helpful, trustful and trustworthy. I hope that I will be able to serve EYCE for the years of my term with applying this rule at my best!
Yours in Christ,
Kristine Jansone | |
