EYCE Interreligious Campaign Against Fundamentalism
From 2008 - 2010, EYCE's special focus field will be the "EYCE Interreligious Campaign to Overcome Fundamentalism". The Campaign has been launched during the December 2007 seminar "Monologue or Dialogue? Inter-religious dialogue meets fundamentalism" in Volos, Greece. The campaign will be steered by an international Leadership Team and aims at becoming an umbrella for various initiatives on all levels fighting religious fundamentalisms.

Last weekend, an international team planned EYCE’s contribution to the 2nd Ecumenical Kirchentag in Munich, Germany. Three workshops in the Youth Centre will feature the Campaign to Overcome Fundamentalism which is currently being run by EYCE and it’s inter-religious partners.

During a planning and dissemination visit to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Leadership Team of EYCE’s three-year Campaign to Overcome Fundamentalism met on Monday with staff of the Interreligious Council in Bosnia-Herzegovina (MRV).

The training course will take place in Skopje, F.Y.R.O.Macedonia, from 15th to 22nd of November and its main aim will be engaging into a constructive dialogue and developing understanding of participants that Human Rights are protecting their different values and equipping them with necessary skills and tools to be multipliers for this understanding.

Christmas 2008 turned out to be a special birthday: Living Faiths Together saw the light of the world. The brand new publication is a tool kit on inter-religious dialogue in youth work. EYCE and its inter-religious partners combined their expertise in the pioneer field of inter-religious youth work and wrote this special hand book in a unique, consensus-based process. Living Faiths Together is now available for download.

Christian, Muslim and Jewish young people from 18 European countries gathered in Budapest in the European Youth Centre Budapest from 9th to 16th of November 2008 to promote inter-cultural learning, youth participation and overcoming stereotypes at the study session organised by the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe.

The "Fundamental Issues" accompany the Campaign to Overcome Fundamentalism and its projects by providing news, thoughts, tools and space for expression.
