Dear reader,
Another year has passed and we are again at its end looking back what good this year has brought as well as looking forward to spend some time with our family and friends to celebrate undoubtedly one of the most joyful holidays of the year.
In the Christian world we celebrate the good news of the birth of Christ child into the world. This good news symbolises truth, love, and hope that brought salvation to all humanity. Without the birth of Jesus Christ, there would be no hope of Heaven for humanity. It was simply a God’s incredible act of love therefore we should be grateful for it. But often we see that people ignore the true meaning of Christmas and instead of sharing exceeding joy and love are even more in tension resulting in conflicts and misunderstanding. Let us be the good examples in the society in leading the change.
We would like to take the opportunity to reflect on what was happening in EYCE throughout the past year. First of all, it was quite exciting year since the General Meeting was held in Helsinki in October and the new Executive Committee of EYCE was elected. There were many successful events such as training courses and capacity building events where young people from all around the Europe came together to discuss important issues. At last, but not the least, it has been a second year of our current campaign “Break The Chains – A campaign to overcome poverty!” where we discovered many Faces of Poverty (the current campaign theme) and we tried to identify as many of them as possible.
In conclusion, do not forget to fill your heart with love, joy and happiness when spending your time with family and friends and spread the good news all around. We hope that you will have a wonderful Christmas.
EYCE thanks you for your support and fellowship through the year. We are excited to see what next year will bring, and look forward to meeting and working with you all!
Many blessings at this wonderful time of year,
Angie, Chris, Javi, Lisa, Manon, Niall, Satu, Sini and Vendy
