New Addition in the Office and much more happening in Spring...

"You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place."
Psalm 31:9

Dear reader,

Spring is arriving. I'm enjoying the twittering of birds, the first warm rays of sun on my skin as well as the first coffee breaks outside. However, in spring not only nature awakes from the winter sleep. For me it's also the time when new things begin. Plans take shape and their realization is tackled. As Christians we believe in God's company. He set our feet in a spacious place. He enables us to achieve great things.

Also EYCE has left winter behind and started spring in a fresh and powerful way. We want to achieve great things this year together with all of you. Strengthened by the General Meeting last year and with God's help we respond to the call to freedom, justice and peace.

We are very glad to introduce Judith Seliger as our new volunteer in the office. She comes from our German member organisation and will be in charge of the implementation of "Cut the Prejudice". You can read about her here.

Two events are going to take place in the coming months, both calls for participants are open already and can be found below. The first one is "Cut the Prejudice". It will focus on the religious identity and spirituality of young people as well as reservations towards religions and denominations. We believe that learning and understanding are the first steps to overcome prejudice and promote a more differentiated image in public.  Therefore we want to get to know young Europeans who share their thoughts about spirituality and faith and get to the bottom of common prejudice. The deadline for applications is 6th March 2016.

The second event EYCE organises together with WSCF-E. “Let´s Talk about Sexuality – The Explosive Power of Taboo Subjects” is a study session and will take place at the European Youth Centre in Budapest. It will explore the issues related to broadly understood sexuality, providing special space for the Christian understandings of the theme. It will critically address and explore relevant topics and issues from a multi-denominational Christian perspective. The deadline for applications is already 25th February 2016.

Enjoy reading your newsletter and Good Luck when applying for one of our events.

In Christ,

Lisa Schneider
EYCE Chairperson

Different religious traditions through the lens of a camera Berlin, Germany, 11th – 17th April 2016 DID YOU KNOW?
