EYCE Christmas Greetings

All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. — John 1: 3-4

Dear {name},

The life born in Bethlehem shines as a gentle light, bringing hope and joy to all people.

As we prepare ourselves to welcome the One who manifested the God of the widow, the foreigner and the orphan, let not our minds conform to the spirit of greed of our times. Let us repent and convert to new ways of living that express our care for future generations. Let Christ’s love move the world to reconciliation and unity.

May your Christmas be blessed and its message of joy and hope overwhelm your lives.

“Christ is born and revealed.
Blessed is the revelation of Christ.”

Yours in Christ,
Alan, Ani, Antti, Harald, Josefína, Nikola and Robert

Our new Executive Committee

As we hold our elections in early October, everyone wanted to take their chance to say hi directly and to wish you a merry Christmas:

Alan (chairperson)

Hello friends,

My name is Alan Shiyar N T, serving as the Chairperson this term. I’m originally from India and belong to the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in India.

Currently pursuing a Masters in Eastern Christian Theology focusing on International Relations and Ecumenism.

Josefína (vice-chairperson)

Hi, I'm Josefína Kinclová from Czech Republic.

I study animal protection, work with animals, and run mostly on coffee.
I’m an active member of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, where I spend a lot of time working with young people.

Animals, faith, youth, and caffeine — that’s basically my world.

Robert (treasurer)

Merry Christmas everyone! I am Robert Hammerschmidt, the new treasurer for EYCE. I am an international relations student in Dresden, Germany, and a Lutheran Christian. In my volunteering for EYCE, I am looking forward to new projects that inspire and move, especially about participation. I am always here for budgets, reimbursements and expanding our network!

Harald (Member)

My name is Harald Skoglund Dahler, and I am from the northern part of Norway. I am 29 years old and work as a youth worker for a parish near Bergen.

I have grown up in the Church of Norway, and have been active in the youth movement there for many years. In my spare time I like to do voluntary work and be with friends.

Ani (Member)

Hello, I’m Ani Torosyan from Armenia. I’m a member of the Armenian Apostolic Church. I have a Master’s degree in Political Science from YSU, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology at Martin Luther University Halle. Antti (Member)

Hi, my name is Antti Järviniemi! I'm youth worker at my local church and finishing my masters degree on social studies and youth research. I come from the happiest country in the world, Finland, and I think that describes me as a person as well.

Nikola (Member)

My name is Nikola Džavrić. I am an Orthodox monk of the Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Serbian Kovin (Ráckeve), Hungary, the only male Orthodox monastery in the country. I live and serve in a community that has borne witness for centuries to the presence of Orthodox faith and the spiritual life of the Serbian people in this region, striving, according to my abilities, to contribute to the preservation of the monastery’s spiritual, cultural, and historical heritage and the life of the Church.
