Isaiah 25:8-9
8 He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. 9 And it will be said in that day, “Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”
Many of you are preparing for Easter in the coming days. With this celebration we have once again a proof of the love that God has for us and the entire world. He has held his promise and „swallowed up death for all time“. It is often hard to see away from our day to day life where the reality shows death, suffering, violation of basic human rights and other problems. Nevertheless, God gave us something to hope for. He gave us the resurrection of his son and with him also ours. This promise is something that can help us overcome the problems of today, because we know that there is a better tomorrow.
Maybe you also feel that once again a celebration such as Easter that is so important in our Christian life can also separate us from our Sisters and Brothers in Christ from denominations that don’t celebrate Easter at the same time. Traditions have often been barriers between faiths, but maybe one day we will understand that Easter, the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ should bring us together and unite us, for we all believe in this miracle.
We wish that we can one day celebrate all together and rejoice as Isaiah is saying „Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation“!
