Young people gathering to promote solidarity!

EYCE starts a new working cycle after the 39th General Meeting

GM_2013 087The 39th General Meeting of the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe took place from 14th – 20th October 2013 in Brno, Czech Republic and brought together more than 20 young people as delegates, guests and stewards to the General Meeting.

The General Meeting was hosted by Czechoslovak Hussite Church and EYCE’s Czech member organisation, the Youth Committee of the Ecumenical Council of Churches in the Czech Republic. Sustainability journey: 4 cities in 4 days!

Pic_PRFrom the 4th – 8th of October 2013, the Campaign Coordination Team (CCT) of EYCE’s Campaign to Promote Ecological Justice has visited the three Baltic countries -Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia -, and then Finland during its project “Sustainability journey: 4 cities in 4 days!”.
 
Members of the CCT were stopping in Riga, Vilnius, Tartu and Helsinki, to meet local youth, raise awareness on environmental issues and spread the message of the EYCE’s Campaign to Promote Ecological Justice.
 
At each stop interactive workshops were organised to learn and share about ecological justice and environmental issues on global, local and personal levels. A special focus was put on personal habits: Read on →

EYCE Press Release: EYCE ExCo meets in Berlin, Germany

exco 008From the 10th – 13th of July 2013 the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the Ecumenical Youth Council in Europe (EYCE) met for their regular meeting in Berlin, Germany. EYCE Press Release: EYCE Launches Be Eco Heroes! Project

Campaign Ecological Justice Square DrawingIn February 2013 EYCE published “A Manual for EYCE Member Organisations to Become More Sustainable” which is considered as a first step of the project Be Eco Heroes! By this venture, EYCE calls for its member organisations to self-evaluate its impacts on the environment, set achievable goals and bring about positive changes in their actions.

In order to assure ownership and relevance of the project, concrete objectives, process and methodology was developed together with representatives from EYCE member organisations in October 2012 in Warsaw, Poland. After achieving self-identified goals, successes will be shared with the other member organisations at the 39th EYCE’s General Meeting in October 2013 in Brno, the Czech Republic. On this occasion, the member organisations who joined the project will be awarded there by a certificate as an acknowledgement of their effort and willingness. Read on →
