Are you interested to discuss issues of religious freedom and diversity in Europe? Then the ecumenical pre-Kirchentag youth meeting with about 50 young people from different Nordic-Baltic European countries will be something exactly for you!
As much Freedom as you need. Religious Tolerance and Diversity in Europe.
30th April – 5th May, 2013 Hamburg/Germany
This will be a space of encounter for young people and an international forum of discussion. Sharing our experiences and learning from each other will be at the heart of our engagement with our topic:
What does freedom mean to me? What am I committed to?
We are living in different countries and are rooted in diverse historical backgrounds. All of us have a certain identity, being shaped by various contexts in our countries. Growing up, this identity is confronted with diverse concepts of society, culture and religion. How can we live this diversity together now and in a future Europe?
Together, we would like to discuss issues surrounding religious commitment and personal freedom. To explore our diversity, it will be essential that you share your experiences and stories from your countries during the seminar.
Our conference in Hamburg will take place from Tuesday 30th April to Wednesday 1st May 2013. The 34th German Protestant Kirchentag will start the same evening at 5 p.m.

Participation
Our event is ecumenical and therefore Christians of all denominations, as well as young people of all other faiths are welcome!
Participants, aged between 20 and 26 are invited. Please apply, if you are from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland or Iceland.
You are asked to stay for the entire week from 30th April to 5th May, 2013.
The meeting will be held in English.
Participation Fee
For accommodation, meals and for the ticket for the Kirchentag: 50 EUR.
Travel subsidies can be provided on application.
Accommodation will be simple, please bring a sleeping bag and a mat.

The meeting is jointly organised by the German Protestant Kirchentag, the Federation of Protestant Youth in Germany (aej), SCM Germany (ESG), Ecumenical Youth Council Europe (EYCE) and the World Student Christian Federation in Europe (WSCF-E).
